AF/2
For herbicide-free and environmentally-friendly processing of the undervine area in vineyards

The electro-hydraulic precision control system
The electro-hydraulic precision control system is required for mulching around the vines. A sensor in front of the swivel arm tactilely probes the vine with high sensitivity and the swing disc is guided closely around the vine. The electro-hydraulic precision control system also allows mulching in the undervine area of young plantings.
The weed brush
The humus weed brush is installed in the outer cutter bearings of the swing disc. It has a separate drive and moves slowly in the opposite direction of the blade, which rotates rapidly. With the weed brush, grass and wild herbs are brushed away from the vine and fed into the mulching cutter. In this manner the area round the vine is also cleanly mulched. Herbicide-free and environmentally-friendly processing of the undervine area is ensured.
Positioning of the swing discs
In conjunction with the precision control system, the AF/2 is factory-equipped with the capability of manually positioning the swivel arms. With this capability the working width of the AF/2 is ideally matched to the row width for undervine mulching; this means that unnecessary and excessively wide movements of the swing discs are avoided.
The operating convenience
All functions – adjusting the working width, swivelling one or both swing discs, positioning the swing discs – can be controlled from the tractor at the push of a button on the control panel of the tractor.
The flexible drive with direction of rotation change
The AF/2 is driven by two gearboxes connected in series to change the direction of rotation and to transmit power to the cutter bearing points through V-belts. The mulch is uniformly distributed and can be placed on both sides in the undervine area or behind the implement. The proven V-belt drive offers the best protection against overload. Through its drive technology the AF implements move freely and require minimal force.
The mulching cutters with overlap blades
The cutters with bolted-on overlap blades ensure a precise and clean grass cut.
The large working width
The AF/2 implements with two rotor swivel arms have a particularly wide working width adjustment range, i.e. one implement can be used to mulch a wide range of different vine row widths. The elongated swivel arms, each with 2 rotary cutters, swivel closely together behind the basic implement.
The adaptation to the terrain
The AF rotary mulchers adapt perfectly to the soil conditions of the vineyard.
The free-running sliding plates under the swing discs copy the unevenness of the ground and the swing discs give way upwards, e.g. if there are accumulations.
The advantageous design
The minimal installation depth and the attachment very close to the tractor ensure optimal weight distribution. Track wheels together with the track roller guarantee effective and reliable support of the AF mulchers. The cutting height is adjusted with the track wheels and track roller.
Transport
The favourable weight distribution and the attachment close to the tractor are particularly advantageous when turning in narrow headlands. The AF/2 implements can be easily transported on roads and paths when swivelled into position.
